Oliver 77 Row Crop-1936 vs. 1946

I have recently found 2 Oliver 70 Row Crop tractors. One is a 1936 model and one is a 1946 model. My hope is to get one good tractor out of the pair and use the other tractor for parts. My question is how many parts would interchange between the 2 tractors? What parts would not interchange? I am not worries so much about sheet metal as I am about magneto, crank, cam, pistons...because both of the engines are locked up. I just would like to get one good tractor and if someone could help me it would be appreciated. Thank you

The 36 would have a 5 gear engine and the newer one a 3 gear most of the engine parts would not interchange. The govener, cam , crank, water pump and ignition parts are all different. The heads should be the same.I have parts for either or. you can call 1-231-843-2663

Thank you for your help. I was very afraid that would be the case. In your opinion, which tractor would you restore? The older or the better looking? Neither one will be easy at all but I am ready for the challenge. Thanks again for your input.

Jared, The 36 will have more value when done but the parts are harder to get and more costly. I would take a good long look at both and decide whitch one would be easiest to do and sell the other to finance part of the restoration costs. Note; a nice 36 all redone will sell for 2500 to 3500 a 46 will sell for 1000 to 2500 so watch your costs.John
