I am playing with an Oliver 77, and have a question about the intake and exhaust manifolds. The Oliver intake manifold has a
heat box built into it, to warm the intake air charge to help with cold ambient temperatures. Would power increase if the heat
box was eliminated? And further, what if the intake runners in the box were removed and the box used as a plenum, similar to
that used underneath downdraft carburators? Has anyone tried this, and what were the results?

Your on the right track cold air makes power, Ihave an intake on a 560 IH done the same way. After it's all done with the welding and modifacations send it out and have it termo coated inside and out.
