i know this isn't the crawler group, but there
isn't much oc-12 discussuion in the other group.

i found an oc-12 diesel. price $700 everthing is there, suppose to have rebuilt
injector pump, valves ground and reset. has a 10'
blade. now the bad, tracks look really worn
haven't heard it run but says the governor needs
wore in cause its sticky from sitting.

how big a money pit am i digging? more important
how easy is it to work on? tranny? clutch? steering? and if i get it fixed up how good a unit
do i have when i'm done? i have an oc-6 gas
and love it.

thanx for the help jeff

Since nobody else has thrown in a comment, I will.

I just rebuilt an OC-46-3G (#12 off the assembly line) from the ground up. The rails were acceptable (about 50%), pins & bushings cost me $500 U.S., presswork was a deal at $640 (CDN). Engine machining and rebuild parts, $2000 (CDN).

Doing all the work myself (except press and engine machining) I ended up with $8500 in to a machine that started out as a free-bee.
