Thanks to two nice gentleman, Mark and Dave, I have decided to get my Super 88 up and running. I know for a fact that the block is cracked and will probably need some new misc. parts throughtout. My dilema is that I really do not have any idea where to start looking for parts(especially the block). I live in North Central Indiana and I am thinking I might be about as well off finding an old one for parts but don't really know. Any thoughts or direction will be greatly appreciated

Jeff, If you have a salvageable block, there is a company in Columbus OH It is called Columbus Col weld and they specialize in this type of work. If you strip the motor and take it there you might be surprised. They have made repairs for us on different engines and we have been pleased. Good luck

Hi Jeff. Depending on how your block is cracked, it is not uncommon to have it welded. Many of these older tractors have welded blocks. You can buy a rebuilt short block from Central Tractor. Their website is www.farmandcountry.com and your best bet would be to go there and get a free catalog to get you started. From there and using Oliver links off of this website you can pretty much put together anything you need.
