Thanks to all about the turbo advice for the 283,you suggested the 5.9 cummins. is this a complicated swap or who could i contact for info?
also,would a 5.9 with a turbo work? reason being that i have access to one.thanks in advance!

Brad,
It is not a real complicated swap but it is a lot of work. I would try to stay with a 5.9 with no turbo because of the horsepower. The 5.9 with no turbo will be around 90 Hp and one with a turbo will be 150 Hp + and that is too much for the 1655 to handle. I am going to try to swap mine this fall and will let you know how it goes. Everyone has told me I will wonder why I didnt do it a long time ago, that it makes it a lot better tractor. Guess I will find out :-)
