I recently bought a oliver 880 diesel. It has a hydraulic cylinder on the right side of the lifting arms. It looks like it could be a 3 point hitch but there isn't a center link on the tractor. Is there one available, and if so how does it mount? Also it has a hi/lo lever on the left. How is this supposed to work? I have to hold it forward to get the tractor to move. Can this be fixed easily? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Oliver 880 could be equipped with a three-point hitch, although I'm not sure just how or where the center link arm attached to the tractor. Perhaps others could answer this one? All I can suggest is to ask your White dealer how this was done. Your nearest dealer can be found on the AGCO website, www.agcocorp.com and using the dealer locator for the White product line. The "hi/lo" lever on the left of the operator's platform is Oliver's Power-Booster drive lever. It operates on the same principle as IH's Torque Amplifier on their Super M-TAs, 300s, 400s, etc. etc.... It is a dry clutch that transfers torque from the engine through a set of reduction gears in the Power-Booster housing. Chances are, your clutch discs are worn. I don't own anything with a Power-Booster, but look for an adjustment on the lever linkage (ie a yoke threaded onto the Power-Booster clutch rod going into the unit). These dry clutches may be adjustable, unlike Oliver's later improved "power shift" auxiliary transmission, the Hydra-Power drive, which used a hydraulically actuated wet clutch pack. If this clutch is adjustable, you just got lucky. If not, you'll have to have the clutch discs replaced by a serviceperson. Good Luck.
