Alternator Tachourmeter Questions

I have a couple questions about my 2150:
A. Alternator After running several hours the ammeter continues to register about 75% of the way toward the +. The needle goes to 0 when the lights are turned on. The tractor has a Delco Remy alternator and regulator. Should I be concerned about overcharging the batteries and how can I determine if the regulator is working properly?

B. Tachourmeter The tachourmeter needle twitches, but doesn't register rpm or hours. Any suggestions on troubleshooting these problems will be appreciated.

A: can also be caused by a bad battery or faulty wiring. The battery and regulator can be tested at any auto parts store. The regulator can also be adjusted. If the battery is using water, it is being overcharged.

B: Remove the cable from the back of the meter. Start the tractor and make sure that the shaft inside the cable spins. I'll bet yours is broke.
