Just a few minutes ago, I was reading the machinery talk forum at agriculture.com and someone there was reporting that Agco will completly stop selling Oliver parts very shortly. Has anyone else heard about this?

I have worked as a parts man for a White and a Deere dealer. The common denominator is demand. If there is enough demand for a given part and the company makes enough margin then they will continue to furnish that part. Agco has discontinued some parts that I diagreed with but they claim to not sell enough. On the other hand, to say that they will not furnish any Oliver parts at all is a pretty broad statement. I know of several Oliver parts that are pretty good money makers for Agco and they would be very foolish to discontinue. I would not be real concerned though. Just consider all of the sources for reproduction and/or aftermarket parts that have come into being in the last 5 to 10 years. These businesses thrive on the fact that the OEM company does not make those items any more. Has anybody else out there heard about this?
