I have a 1650 and thinking about maybe buying
a 1755 that has not been used in several years
I asked about the difference in the engines and I understand they are basically the same exept
for a longer stroke. I Love my 1650 and it has
always been very dependable. I was wondering if
anybody had any comments are horror stories about
a 1755. Thanks in advance for any comments.

The 1755 has a closed center hydrolic system. The pump is mounted outside the transmission. They are supposed to be better but are much more expencive to repair.I seem to have less trouble with the 50 series hydrolic system.

We run a 1974 1755 diesel along with an 1850 gas. We had some trouble with the head gasket leaking but finally got it fixed. It has been a great tractor we pull a 16ft White disc or we can pull a 21ft Keawanee for incorporation of spray. The 1755 is just the right size for hauling in, we pull a 350 bushel Kory wagon behind it and she handles the hills. If it hasn't ran for a while you might have some dry seals and possibly some leaks.
