Fix pto engagement lever on 1950

The pto lever on our Oliver 1950 does not disengage the pto anymore. We expect that a pin is sheared inside the rear end. Has anyone made this repair and if so, is it better to remove the hydralic unit or can this be fixed by removing the pto unit?

I would pull the pto unit. That way you would not break the gasket on the hyd pan.Allso if you drop something you can find it again.My father used the 1950 as a work bench while the hyd unit was off,he lost a pan of bolts into the rear.

My PTO does not turn on my Super 55.I have removed the top case cover and see nothing wrong.I really need a bit of working knowledge of the Pto system if anyone can help?Also the hi-lo lever to the right side seems to be not working(very loose front to back)and linkage is hooked up.Just bought a woods mower deck and can't use it,thanks.If possible please email as the grass is getting tall. Paul
