Brake Noise

I recently put new linings on the band brakes for a early Rowcrop 88. When I apply the right brake hard going forward under a load, I hear a loud metallic sound coming from the brake. The harder I push the pedal, the louder the noise. When I brake with the clutch in, no noise. Any ideas as to what is causing this noise? Any comments are appreciated.

sounds like you need a little Ajustment I think you got them too tight
