Oliver 1800 Help

New to Oliver; need advice from you experts.
Saw an ad for Oliver 1800, and need some info before inquiring. Size, HP, engine mfg, good points, bad points, approximate value, dealer availability near Weatherford TX, usual features like PS, WF end, transmission, draft control, what to look for/check. Appriciate all assistance.

I have an 1800, Series C, Wheatland w/ a infamous 310 Diesel. I hear alot of people complain about 310's. Well mine has 7,982 Hrs. on it and has never had the pan or head removed. I still use the tractor to pull a 4-18's oliver plow and a 18' oliver digger. It handels them well and uses almost no oil.

I totally agree with Shep. I have a 1655 diesel tractor and I think you could buy one for not much more money and they have more modern features such as direct injection and the over/under 3 speed. Late model 1650's also have these features. I think in the long run, you would be more satisifed with these than with an 1800. My two cents worth.

Ok, I will try and answer some of these questions, any of you other guys can help me anytime....

The first thing is the 1800 came in three different series, A B & C. You need to find out what series it is, that will tell you how old it is and what features it has. The 1800's were around 73Hp gas and 77Hp Diesel. The engines were Waukashau, a 283ci gas and the famous 310 diesel. This tractor had the old style two speed Hydro shift, not the newer and more desired three speed. This tractor was built between 1960 and 1964, it had live pto, power steering, and live hydra-lectric remotes.

In my opinion, if you are going to use the tractor for work, get a 50 or 55 series. They are more advanced and a little newer. A good 1650 will do the same thing as a 1800 and be a better tractor. Just my 2 cents
