While chasing parts down for my 550 I located a working S-55 in MN. Tractor is currently under about 3' of snow. Had planned to buy entire tractor as parts for my 550, but a dealer beat me to the sale and was able to resell it rapidly.

Below is the future fate of Dennis' S-55.

"My Super 55 was in the shop to fix tranny leaks. I had intended to sell it this spring with all the spare parts but the dealer sold it for me. It is in excellent running shape but the buyer was the Mall of America. They are going to drain all fluids, weld any moveable parts, and give it a $2000 red paint job and use it as a display for kids to get their picture taken on it. What a shame! I thought the dealer was making it up when he told me."

To me, this is mixed emotions - great to see the legacy of Oliver perpetuated, but as RED??

Perhaps they could be persuaded to put Cockshutt decals on it. I don't think that Cockshutt made a S 55 only a 550.

Right. No Cockshutt Super 55's, just 550's. The
early ones were all tan, too.

Are there no oliver collectors in that area ? It would make great advertizing for national club!! At least tell them its Green ..
