TOOK MY 77OUT FOR A SHAKEDOWN AND A TANK OF GAS RUN IT ABOUT 8 MILES THE NEXT DAY HAD BIG SPOT OF OIL UNDER TRACTOR. drained oil about 4gal was not over full

I'm going to make several assumptions here for lack of more information. I'm going to assume you drained all this oil from the rear end/transmission because I don't think you could get 4 gallons in the crankcase to start with. With this thought in mind, I think all the extra oil came from the hydraulic system, also assuming this tractor has one. The seals have went out of the hydraulic pump allowing this oil into the final drives. If you check, your hydraulic system is probably empty.
