With my toy tractor that is. She is coming out of the shop this week. Had to overhaul the top of the engine and put on a new turbo. Not as bad as I thought. Next week she is going over to a tractor shop to be dyno tested and the tail twisted up a bit. Then the 2150 gets some duty in front of the sunflower colter chisel, and we will see some real Oliver POWER.. Just keeping everyone updated :-)

nice looking tractor. we have a 2150 2 wheel drive and if my memory serves me right, it was a real bear to remove or get to some of the cylinder head bolts. Of course that was many years ago before my tool box was filled with many more tools. What still amazes me is how small the actual engine looks compared to the rest of the tractor.

It is pretty stupid, but there are two wrenches you have to get from the agco dealer that are called Hurk head bolt wrenches, that allow you to tork the head bolts correctly. I just borrowed mine, but you can buy them for about $50 a piece, and that is all they are good for. I still have not figured out why some manufactures have specal tools you have to have to work on "thier" products. Makes you buy more tools I guess.

You're right! That's how the old tool box gets filled.

In order to post a picture you need to get an account with www.photopoint.com and upload pictures into that. You put you picture into a album that you create then you can post a picture or the entire album like I did. Then you copy the url and paste it to the Link URL or the Image URL at the bottom of the ytmag post and then name it. If you want better directions or need help just e-mail me off this post.

Just a dandy, Shepherd! One thing you may find surprising when you get that bad boy out in the field is how well it floats, even on singles. My 2150 doesn't weigh quite as much as your's does, because it doesn't have the planetaries, but, even so, it makes noticeably more shallow tracks on worked ground than my 1550 does! Couldn't believe that, the first time I saw it. I would just LOVE to get it on duals! The 2050, too. 23.1x34's x 4! I had a practically BRAND NEW set bought over the phone for only $400Can(about $275US) because the guy had sold the tractor that they were on, and couldn't sell the duals, and just wanted them out of his way, but I lost the guy's name and number, and haven't found it since. Rats. :((

Great looking tractor. Really curious though about the low hours on this old girl. What's the story on her? Thanks.

Not really sure, it belonged to a dairy farm in Rocky Mount, Va when it was traded to the AgCo dealer this fall. I would almost bet it is a one owner tractor. I thought maybe the Hr meter was broke or something, but the more I get into this tractor the more things just look brand new. And then I found the origional air filters and that pretty much sealed it. I think is has the origional tires as well, but I am not sure. The tractor shows very little wear, has sat inside most of its life, and has had a paint job sometime in the last few years. I really cant imagine someone owning a machine like this and not using it.

What a machine! Be sure to let us know what the dyno says. It's always interesting to check reality versus advertisements - I bet it makes closer to 150 horse.

I've always preferred the looks of the 880 but I got to tell ya, that head on shot sure gave me a bad case of tractor lust. I agree, the tank fenders really add to the image. I can't imagine what the wife would say if that came over to play... well, maybe I can, but it's not a pretty picture.

And just how lttle did you pay for this? I bet it's hard to beat your bang for the buck!

Thanks for the comments D13, this tractor is going to work when I get finished with her. I have a working interest in my dads 450 acre farm here in Va and I handle most of the machinery needs. I work a 8-5 job here in town during the week and help on the farm evenings and weekends. We farm mostly with Olivers and a few IH and others, but that is how we afford toys like that, we use them. If you want to come over, wait until we are working ground here in another month, with a ripper, a double offset disk and a cultimulcher all in the same field. It is a great picture.

Sounds like your having fun. Make sure the front axle joint housings are full of good clean grease. They are super expensive to fix and often neglected. Parts for one side alone are $1,650. Good luck.

Nice tractor. Bigger than I thought it would be. I'm comparing the tractor to you. You said you bought it cheep. What do you call cheep? Just curious. You don't have to say if you don't want.

Well, I guess cheap is a realitive term. The dealer was going to fix the engine and sell it "field ready" whatever that means, for $11,000 this spring. I took it as is, with oil all over it and two flat tires for $5,000. I will have a little over $1,000 in repairs to the engine and the three point hitch and I now have a 150 Hp MFWD tractor for about $6,000. I didnt think that was too bad, for what is was. I have seen 2150 Olivers in worse shape go for more than that.

Nice Tractor! You are in it plenty cheap.About (4) years ago they sold out the estate of the old Oliver dealer at Rich Hill,MO.He used to farm 7,000 acres. On the sale the MFWD 2150 Oliver that had to be pulled to start brought $8,000.The MFWD 1950 Oliver also had to be pulled to start and brought $7,000.Neither had been used in years.

Last fall I knew of a 2150 Oliver for sale in NE MO for $10,000.It had a fresh engine but needed a hyd pump.I have heard of a 2050 Oliver for sale in Western MO.2050 and 2150 Olivers are scarce in our area.

Years ago in the early 70's there used to be a 12000# and 15,000# 2150 Oliver super stock pulling tractor in NW MO.It did pretty good.

I own a 1967 1950 Oliver and really enjoy that screaming little 4-53 Detroit. When it drys up some it will hit the field.

You still just need to drive yours up here in about a month when we get into field work. Then we can see what two big Ollies can tear up. :-)

I would love it. Say would you mind giving me the measurement from the axle to bottom of the fuel tanks. Iam thinking that maybe yours setup above the flooboard. Because the picture from the front the tanks seem to be very close to the tractor, mine are not that close and I cannot move them in anymore unless I raise them above the floorboard. Still trying to close that big boy down. Had it running again last nite think I have to rebuild injector pump keeps speeding up on its own.

My fenders are pushed almost all the way out, actually. They sit on the fender extension and you can see the extension between the axle and the fender, I am guessing about 3 or 4 inches, but I dont think that it is above the floor pan. I will look this weekend and will let you know an exact measurement. I will also measure between the fenders and let you know how wide mine are. My rear wheels are fixed because of the planatary rear axle, so I cannot move mine in or out. Do you have the Bosh PSJ fuel pump?? If so you may consider upgrading to the Bosh 100 model, or an even newer model instead of rebuilding. Check your fuel filters good before messing with the pump, I have been told they clog easily.
