Oliver tractor question

IT has a front end like i havent seen before with the axle being the shape of a tube or pipe.

it is a 1945 oliver 70RC with 6 cyl. engine(gas),it runs good,magneto ignition,has a shaft on the side that i believe is for a pulley to run equipment but it is missing the pulley,drives good also,needs tires but every tractor ive come across has needed tires,is missing the front grill and one side curtain on the right side in the rear,has been sitting outside for years but starts and runs good,electric and hand crank start,no hydraulics or attachments.

I realize that different areas of the country bring different prices but i am hoping that people from all areas of the country can reply to give a general idea of an estimate.

i know what i usually give for tractors but i havent come across an oliver before and this guy insists i make an offer.Im afrid if i say to low a price ill lose my chance all together and it will end up being scrapped!The people who have already made offers are scrappers and they want it to cut up for metal and certain parts to keep and sell.They have made offers of like 150-$200.I know its worth more than that cause it runs but i dont want to offer to high and not be able to sell it for my investment if it doesnt turn out to be worth fixing up.

in my humble opinion.....

you gotta be careful restoring 60s and 70s. they're expensive to work on (again IMHO), and once you're done you've got a parade tractor, nothing more. no hydraulics, and the PTO will run you through a fence. it's hard to recoup your investment, unless you intend to keep it and pass it on to schramm jr.

if it needs tires, that's $500. you say 3 of the side curtains are there. what kind of shape? if you need to replace them, and the grill, that's $500-. it runs -- but does the engine need work? if so, that's another $500, depending on how much of it you do. paint? on and on.....

if you restore a fleetline (66, 77, 88), or later, many models had dual hydraulics, and live PTO. after you restore one, the tractor can actually take on light chores -- besides the parades.

i would not go above $500. good luck..... .
