They are a very nice utility tractor. Most drivetrain parts are easy to get. Sheet metal is proably the hardest thing to find.Some had power steering which makes a great unit eaven better. Parts are cheeper to keep it properly matained than most of the Japan made units. The only thing is to get use to the shift lever on the left side.

Pound for pound the 550 is better than anything I've seen. It has great power for its size and can really get down and lug. I don't think it can be beat for a utility tractor in the 40 HP range. I have run into 2 problems with mine: Power steering parts are next to impossible to find - I finally had a pump assembly manufactured: second, the hydralic system on the 3pt. hitch hiccups, it loses lift and then picks it up again. Have not been able to get it fixed. Other than that the 550 is thew best.

One of the greatest tractors ever built (right after the 1650 Oliver). Makes a Ford 8N want to hide in shame. Word of warning...if you ever have to repair PTO clutch it can be a little pricey. I know--Dad did it to his. Not necessarily a weak spot but PTO clutches on anything can wear out.

Those are great tractors. Just take a close look at the steering if it has been used with a loader. They are quite durable and you can still get a lot of parts. I bet they are the best utility tractor around. I have the older brother, a Super55 and love it. You are going to get a lot of positives on this one. The do bring in a good dollar
