I was without a computer for a while, just found your message in the archives, I have not gotten the chance to go down to dads and check out the old steering pump/generator, he said its there but I have not seen it. Will let you know when I do find it.

DW, if you find it and Jake decides he doesn't need or want it I'm interested. I have a wide front 880 Diesel Row Crop with manual steering. Would like to put a factory generator/pump on and convert to power steering. It has an alternator with homemade brackets on it now that don't fit right. I'm in Athens, Ohio, about 75 miles southeast of Columbus. Email or phone message works best for me. (740)593-6769

Thanks, Rod

I might also have a line on a couple of other generators with saginaw pumps on them, they are off of old Chyr. Imperials. Dont know if these would work or not, have not seen them. See what you can find and I will to.

It was the old generator/pump unit that came factoy on the tractor. If my memory serves me we had the generator part rebuilt a couple of years prior to removing it from the tractor. Now I question what we did but that was some 20 + years ago. We just removed the power steering narrow front end because we kept getting leaks, dealer wanted around 700$ to fix it, but would swap it with a manual front end for free.. so guess what we did. tractor was an 880 miss that ol girl, she would out work our neighbors 8600 Ford on a 12' disk.. he hated that. I'll look for it next time I get down home. I believe it will work on any of the old olivers with power steering. I do Not know how much it would weigh, seemed heavy when I was a 12year old though. Just so you know I live the Cols Ohio area, Farm is located in the Cambridge Ohio area.
