I'm interested in knowing a little more about this machine. We recently purchased a 710 and don't know much about this model other than what little is written about in in the oliver book by CH Wendel. Anybody out there used them, worked on them, or sold them. I'd really like to know how they compare to the 20 series balers. We've been looking for something to replace our John Deere 14T baler. We have a lot of problems with shear pins in the deere when baling waterways. Hopefully the slip clutches in the oliver will be a big improvement.

I haye not seen a 710 but we can get information
from the Better Farming full line catalog of 72
and 73. The 710 has 48 tines instead of 96,it has
a 24" plunger instesd of 28 as the 720 has and
it has the standard hypoid-gear transmission,the
720 has a hevy-duty. After the 710 came out the
520 was not listed. The 710 might be a replacement
for the 520.

Dan,
I have never seen a 710 before, but I do have a
720 with a number 19 thrower. If you have any
questions about the 720, I may be able to help.

The difference in balers between the 720 & 710 is the pickup. Narrower and with fewer teeth.
