Crankshaft rod journals

Anybody ever seen crankshaft rod journals worn at
a taper. They taper about .002 from back to front,
I checked the rods and they are all straight. This
is on an Oliver 70. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the info guys I think I found the problem. I put the crank and bearings back in the
block and found a very excessive amount of crank
end play.

This is a common problem on the older continental engines. Have the rods checked for alighnment, turn the crank and you shouldn't have any problem. Also most of the time the front main brgs. will be wore alot worse than the rear one's.

The piston holes don't line up with the crank journals,look to see if they are offset like a s77.
