some guy posted half a dozen tractors in field condition.

one of them is an oliver 70 with an 8-inch tree growing up out of the engine compartment.

Hey Cowboy,
I checked the ads that you are talking about, and I can not find where they say anything "FIELD READY". They do say "complete, but not running". Does this mean field ready? Not where I come from. Maybe you should just look at the pictures and let someone else read them.

Maybe you should have someone read for you too!! Field condition is a term some (like me) use to discribe "as found" with tongue in cheek.

"field condition", not "field ready".

maybe i used the term incorrectly.

i've always used "field condition" to mean that an old tractor has set out in the field one day too many, i.e. very poor condition.

Hey Cowboy,
I am sorry that I was so hard on you. I sell some used tractors (every once in a while) and had only known the terms "FIELD READY or FIELD CONDITION" to mean the same as "READY TO GO TO WORK". I took it that you were making fun of some guy tring to sell his old tractors.
Please accept my appology. I should be old enough now to know that words or phraises may have different meanings in different parts of the country.
