Help! I have timed the mag to the engine and when I put a timimg light on and check the timing the mark is almost 90Deg out, I have timed the mag and followed the service manual to the T. The Tractor has no power and back fires when you start it or put it under a load. This is a oliver 70rc 1937. I plann to check the time gear on the front of the engine, all signs apear that one of the gears is a tooth off. If any one has some ideas Pleas responed or call 508-543-5908 Roger

Rodger I had a similar problem with my 1936 HP 70. I assume the crank is not in time with the camshaft, if so you may try putting no 6 in no 1 tower on the mag and follow the sequence from there, this may work if it does just remember to time from #6 hereafter. Remember no 1 is the top tower next to the block. Hope this helps. Delbert.
