Okay, backing out the restrictor valves helped. I also made sure the bleed valves were all the way in. Everything worked great for a short while. Now my bucket will not stay in position (tied to right remote) it bleeds off very fast, running or not. If I tilt my bucket all the way up it will bleed back down within about 5 seconds.

Did I screw up when I back the restrictors off 1 full turn or did a blow an o-ring in the valve. The right hand remote handle moved forward easy yesterday but it would not move back to the rear, now it does (acts like it cut an oring if there is any in there).

If its a cut oring, can it be serviced without pulling the whole valve assembly off? Will the spool valve come out of the plug in back?

Fixed it, boy this was an easy job. Tore down top cover and found a small peice of metal on the right side check ball. I had plumbed new 1/2 pipe on the right side for the loader and they must not have been clean. I swear I blew through everything. Put it back together and she works like a champ. Hope them yellow Caterpiller O-ring doesn't cause an allergic reaction to this old girl

The "Cat" rings should cause no allergies for your Oliver, after all, lots of Olivers came with "Cat" engines. But, I'd do away with the "remote " hookups for the loader. My White 2-85 came with the loader working off two remotes, this was awkward to reach, etc. so I put in a new two-spool Cross loader valve I got at Central Tractor, tapped into the high pressure line that goes from the pump to the system around the back of the hyd. reservoir, mounted the valve on a pedestal within easy reach, plumbed the return line to the pipe plug in the Hyd reservoir and was good to go. Works like a champ, many times better than before and I gain two hydraulic outlets to boot. The White is a closed center system so you need the CC plug in the valve. I mention this because the older Whites like mine are first cousins to the Olivers. good luck

The 1850 is open center and the system is completely differat from a 2-85.

Richard,

This is a good news/bad news deal. The part(s) you need are "relief valve (4/pckg) - AGCO 106006A". When they blow, they are ruined. Also, even though you probably only blew one, you must replace all four. To do so, you must remove the hydraulic pump cover, directly under the seat. The valves are in the cover. Be careful with the cover gasket or you'll need a new one as well.

Where do I start? The spools do come out the back,but they have a fork like conection to the levers so they will not come out with out removeing the top. The top allso contains the locking balls that hold fluid in the hoses.Its possible something is keeping the balls from sealing. There are no orings on the spools, they are precion fit and can not be interchanged.The spools do have 2 centering springs,something was just a little sticky. On my loader I had to reverse the bucket hoses so the bucket would stay up. A bad piston seal will do the same let down trick. Backing out the restrictor did no damage.
