Did White ever use a Cat engine in one of the larger 2 wheel or fwa tractors?

In 1973 White Farm Equipment introduced a new line of tractors. They were the same style tractor just with the WHITE name on the side of them.They were made from 1973 to 1976.In 1977 WHITE came out with there 2-180. The early 2255 did have 3150 then went to the 3208.The WHITES also had the 3208.Now the earlyer 2255 had Oliver or Cockshutt on the side of it, the last ones all had the WHITE logo on the side.

My 2 cents worth. Used a 3150 in early 2255 then 3208 in later 2255. As far as the silver tractors here goes: 4-150, and 4-180 articulated 4 wheel drives used 3208 as well as their replacements; the 4-175 and 4-210 respectively. The 2-180 2wd used the 3208 also. These were all naturally aspirated engines. When the 2-180 was replaced in 1985 or 86 or so with the 185 White chose to go with 505 Cummins. The 4-225 used a 3208 turbocharged. The 4-270 used a 3306 Cat 6 cylinder. The dealer I used to work for would repower 4-210's with 3208 turbo remanufactured engines turned up to about 250 hp. The rest of the tractor would handle it if the operator didn't "cowboy drive it". The weak link was usually the over/under transmission.

Yes it was the 2-180 and the cat 3208.

They used the 3150 Cat engines in the early 2255'
s and later on used the 3208 in the same tractor. I had one of the later 2255's with the 3208. Tons of HP and as long as you didn't run it wide open, was pretty darn easy on fuel.
