A little off the subject, but in reference to the increased interest in the 99's. Was at a farm sale in St. Paul, Ks. about 5 years ago and the owner had a 1952 99. He said the engine was completely rebuilt using the last set of pistons and liners available from Oliver and had less than 40 hours since rebuild. Also said all bearings in transmission and rear end had been replaced at same time. Also had new rear tires put on at same time, was stated that he had spent $4500.00 on this tractor. It was about 300 units from being the last one built. It brought $2300.00 but it was rainy and cold day in march and not much of a crowd.

Depends on if you are buying or selling. I would guess $1500 to $2000. I have seen a number of Oliver 80's in none running condition and the seller was asking $800-$1000. Not only were some of these not running but some where even stuck. There seems to be an increase in interest in the 80, 90 and 99 lately. Maybe someone else has noticed this.

I've seen a few more of the 80, 90, 99's for sale recently too. We just bought a pair of 80 standards for around $800 I think. I haven't been home to look at them yet but hopefully we can get one or both running. The guy we bought them from also has another pair I think and wanted around $1400 for them a couple years back. I don't know what the rowcrops bring because I haven't seen many of them around. I've seen one in our area and I know of another. I watched a 99 sell at the sale in Nokomis Ill. after thanksgiving and I think it brought around $1200-$1400. We bought one identical to this one and one for parts for $600 a couple years back and the one identical to the one in Ill. that we have is in much better shape. If you can find any of these tractor and can get them cheap they seem to be good property now. I'd like to find more of them, but they are not cheap to buy or work on. We have been working on overhauling a 1950 "99" and have run into quite a few snags. Even though they are a pain in the butt to work on, they're pretty fun when you get them done.
