Found a Super 55 hiding in the weeds. All sheet metal is present and good to fair, tires are fair. Owner claims engine needs a rebuild. Is $600.00 (what he is asking) a fair price or should I throw my hat down and cut a couple of cirles around the ol' gal.

I am not a dealer, but over the course of 30 years or so I've owned about 25 tractors- never more than 4 at a time. You know how it is- once you know what they're worth, you can't resist picking up a "good deal", polishing it up a bit, and re-selling. I bought my 550 about 25 years ago, and it is the only one that I will never sell. 'Nuff said- go snap it up.

vince, you need to jump all over this.

$600? for a tractor with live power, 3 pt, 30+ HP?

you know what that retails for new?

the S55 itself, in good working condition, can't be touched in my neck of the woods for under $3k. a nice one restored would go for $4k+.

buy it yesterday.....

He could get $600 for the sheet metal if it's all there, but it wouldn't hurt to offer less. Is it deisel or gas? Does it have power steering? I love my Super 55. It's worth restoring.

If it is complete I would offer $450 and go $500 if nessesary. Seems like a nice loader/chore tractor. Good luck
