Looking for information concerning my 1938 oliver 70 rc. This tractor was purchased new by my grandfather in 1938. My father says that it came with a silver grill and green wheels. This is obviously a different color scheme than most Oliver tractors.

There were tractors that were painted different colors for shows to get the response from farmers but yours is not one of those. Gary was right, your grill was nickel plated. They did that for a while. I don't know how many, but it wasn't done for very long.

If i remeber correct oliver painted several tractors each in a differant color scheme. they showed them off allover the country and had people vote on the best one. It was a promotional scheme to show off the new 70 tractors. Later the tractors where sold and could be painted the origanal colors. There was a red one featured on a calander.
