Oliver 550 Diesel Power Steering

I have a '59 550 Diesel and the power steering hatched. I have found a new generator,(it mounts on the back of the generator and drives off the armature shaft) however I cannot find a pump anywhere. Any ideas or conversion kits available?

A couple of alternatives- I think there's a "live" port on the hydraulic system, on the right side of the transmission case- and there are "flow dividers" available to split the flow- you need about 3 GPM to run the power steering, and you could route the excess back to the pump (I'm sure there is another port for return flow). Or, you could find a place to mount an automotive power steering pump, run by the fan belt- or, you could rig a pump run by a shaft off the front of the engine through the crank hole.

Other sources are Oliver and Allis Chalmers tractors and General Motors cars of late 50s which had the Delco generators. They are hard to find as restorers have bought all they can find.

Try a 59 chrysler (or around that year)- as I remember they had the same set up off the back of the generator- might find one in a older junkyard?
or try a NAPA store?
