I put my post under your question for the Industrial question below....wooops. As to your question, it looks like you are looking at a Super 88 tractor. Your serial number tractor was built in 1956. If the engine is original, give us the characters on the left hand side of the crankcase and we can ID it.

Let me throw in my 2 cents worth. All the manufacturers advertised and sold their industrial tractors using engine flywheel horsepower IE, The engine was tested less all accessories (water pump, fan, generator and of course directly off the flywheel) resulting in higher horsepower numbers without running a drive train and hydraulics. To sell against the competition you had to advertise like horsepower test figures or you wouldn't get the deal. All 4 wheel drive tractors are sold using flywheel horsepower as well as that is the way that section of the industry was started. Paint colors could be specified by the order department, for example we could specify industrial yellow or perhaps highway orange. You note that industrial tractors that are restored, some are painted either color as that probably was the way it was painted orginially. If a order was placed for a quanity of tractors, Oliver would paint them any color to get the business, for example the state of Kansas had a large number of Oliver tractors painted blue for their highway use. I have a 60 Std that was a kansas mower tractor painted blue.

I bought an 880 last spring in good shape. Mine has a narrow front, and no 3 pt. or hydraboost, and is gas. It is in mechanically good shape, and the metal is about 85%. I gave $2000. If I were to sell it I wouldn't let it go for less than $2800 which is about what I have seen most priced at. As far as pictures click on the Oliver site in the banner above the forums, and there should be photos of both.

viewing the pictures again...
it looks like an oliver super 77 (has a wide front) and fender lights

can anyone tell by the serial # i gave the year or confirm the model that i think it is....

what is the value...it looks decent but obviously has been used...new tires in the rear and the front are ok...

anything i should look for that will cost money to fix up...?? pto problems??

i also heard that the hydraulics are expensive to repair on olivers....

i also found a loader that fits a 770...will that bolt up to this (super 77 ??) rig??
