: : : : Hello all, I just found the group and wanted to : : : brag a little. I just found a '52 Oliver 66 Row- : : : Crop tractor. Has all the sheet metal including : : : the curtains, flip-up covers for gas and radiator, : : : original lights, fenders and working gauges. Is : : : currently showing all the original paint (will need : : : to be repainted...) Starts good, engine runs like : : : a sewing machine. Needs a couple tires is all.: : : Here's the kicker....cost me $250.00. : : : Fellow is selling off all his old "toys" and thinking : : : about moving south I guess. Will restore this one : : : to use on my small Vegetable Farm in Central Michigan. : : : Comments? : : : Tom in Michigan : : Tom, : : I've never said this to a fellow Oliver owner, but from all of us who bought WRECKS for 10 times what you paid and then paid mortgaged our homes for original replacement parts, let me just say: BITE ME! Out of sheer jealosy of course! : Tom, : Much congrats on your recent purchase. Be preparedto fall in love with one of the finest : machines ever made. : Dwight in Kansas Gents, It'll be another few weeks before I get it home, but I was considering posting some pictures of the tractor as purchased and the work as it progressed. Is there a specific place to do so, or can I post them on this board? Also, Dwight, thanks for the vote of confidence. My brother-in-law the John Deere dealer was a little disappointed in my purchase, but I just CANNOT afford the "other" green tractor. Even an old one is out of reach. Hopefully this will take care of my needs for a while. Thanks, Tom in Michigan
