1650 gas oliver hydrolics

as you sit in the seat on the right hand side their is a 1/2 by 20 thread bolt about 2 1/4 inches long going into the hydrolic fluid tank. What does that seat up against and how far does that need to be threaded into the tank ?? My problem started when I thought that by adjusting that bolt I could change the flow between the valves that govern the three point lift and my loader. My loader has tremendous power but my three point hitch can not lift my big bales,any help out there would go a long ways here THANKS.

I think you are talking about the interlock bleed screw,it has a steel ball inside the end . You are to turn it out several turns if useing single acting remotes. When it is unscrewed the 3point will NOT work. SO turn that sucker in and leave it until you have to remove the 3point piston. You can use single acting with out doing anything.If your 3point does not work after turning it in post again and we can help.

Thanks for getting back to me larry.....but now for the truth...when I was adjusting that bolt last spring right after we just overhauled the engine... I started to get frustrated so I cranked a little harder on that critter and ended up cracking the housing around the hole.Now I was getting fed up with the seepage of fluid so I backed out the bolt 3 days ago (damaged the threads also.. go figure ) then I used some high temp. caulk let it cure for a day then aplied type of liquid steel and let that cure for a day ..now I plan on filling it with some fluid so I can tap it with the fluid running out with any filings from tapping the new threads. I think that may help my leak problem but I seem to still have a problem with no lifting power on the 3 point hitch..... I thought that I heard once about a mixer valve on the left side that might be dirty or gummed up ???Is that something that can be taken off and rinsed out to make it function properly again ??

If the problem is not with the ball being seated, there is a relief valve on the 3PH piston. The elbow that attaches it to the housing will sometimes break and cause the 3PH not to function. WB.

The 3 point valve is inside the top cover but that is not your problem. the flow divider valve is on the left but that is not your problem either. It is the bolt you have been messing with. WE are talking about the same one i hope. Its about a 3/4 wrench head. It holds a steel ball in a hole that goes to the piston of the 3 point,If the hole IS NOT sealed all fluid will leak out of this piston(hydrolic ram). Sealing the threads is all so needed but the ball must be sealing the inner hole. The service manuel warns not to over tighten or you can break the ball or seat. I believe you have done this allready.

Thanks for the feed-back guys.... And you are right in assuming that I may have done some damage....but I cant help but wonder if that bolt was seated correctly the first time why dint I have any lifting power with the three-point???I will try to tap the threads this morning (Sat.) and insert the bolt again.... I t seems to have enough power to lift my weighted scrapping blade (about 3-4 hundred pounds) but not my big bales.

There are other places that can let preasure to the 3 point escape. Bad piston o ring seal,bad o ring between the valve and piston,leakey spool in valve. You can't get to the piston unless the whole hyd unit is removed. The valve and o rings in between can be accessed through the top cover,under the seat. Thease are larger repare jobs than the bolt and since that is what you moved it was the first place to look. The steel ball inside where the bolt goes must seal tight it gets double the preasure of most other parts,because of bounceing in the field. The bolt threads only seal the oil in the resivor.Remove the ball if you can to see if its good then you will have more room to tap the hole.
