Non working Plow

I have a two bottom plow on rubber tires. I can,t seem to be able to figure out how to keep the plow down. It will automatically trip on the lever and raise the plow. I am sure there are some springs missing or misplaced. I am looking for a picture of a working plow or a place where I can locate a manual.

There are a couple springs in each type of trip mechanism that could give you problems. In the rooster comb lift there is a large coil like spring that could be giving you trouble. All the plows with that lift we have that the springs were broken, never worked right. They did the same thing when we dropped them the plow lifted itself out of the ground. I do have a number of plow parts books scanned into my computer at home and can send you the diagrams of the lifts and I also have some pictures of the rooster comb lift. I've never worked on the clutch lift yet, but we do have a couple plows that are doing what your's is doing, and I'll eventially have to work on them. I'll be going home in about a week and I can send you some info then if you want. Try to figure out what model you have, that might help me a little.

Are you releasing the trip rope as soon as the plow drops. Failing to do so will some times cause it to cycle all the way through. Another possibility is one of the ears on the trip mechanism has broken off and it completes a full cycle.
