I have an old Oliver I am trying to identify.Where is the model number or is it gone. The engine has a ser.# D600A619. It is a 6cyl , 2 front wheels. My guess it was made early 50s to early 60s. Help!

There should be casting numbers on many of the cast parts. The number will start with a K or an L or some other letter. Those letters will help identify the model. Give me a few part numbers and I'll tell you what it is.

The steering gear box has a number F756. Clutch pedal #F989. Right brake pedal #F111. Maybe I could post a picture or E-mail one.

The F was the designation given to parts on the Oliver 70 Standard, Industrial and Airport model. You didn't say if you had a wide or narrow front but I'm guessing by the numbers that you have a wide front. It should be a 70 though. Is there any red paint on it by any chance?

Congratulations. It sounds like you're the proud parent of a 70 Industrial. Most likely built in the mid 1940's. A good find!

If I'm not mistaken, that's a Continental Motors casting number. Continental+ six cylinder+ tricycle front= Oliver 70 Row Crop? My best guess, Karl.

Did Oliver ever use a Continental 6-cyl engine? The styled tractors all used either a standard Waukesha engine, or an Oliver built Waukesha design. The only exception I can think of is the GM turbodiesels in the 99, and 9xx series.

I think the Super 44 and 440 may have used a continental 4-cyl engine.

The engine in the Hart-Parr and Oliver 70s was an overhead valve six-cylinder 201cid Continental. The 60 used a Waukesha, and all the fleetline series used Waukesha engines, with the exception of the Detroit in the S99 and later. The 80 engine was descended from a Hart-Parr design and the 80 diesel used a Buda. Oliver outsourced engines right up to the end, with the Perkins in the 1850 and the Waukeshas and Hercules in the 50-55 series.
