Oliver Canopy?

Did Oliver ever make a canopy or a ROPS for any of their later model tractors?? I saw a 1655 the other day that had a canopy on it, I did not know if the farmer made it or if it was factory, and I was wanting to put one on my 1850. Does anyone know where I might find one, factory or otherwise??

The Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS) was orginally developed by the John Deere Company. In the interest of safety, they made the design available to all of the other manufacturers. Thats why they all appear the same.

The 55 series did have them but not maney around. I have one on an 1850. Plus I have 4 others that I made fit. The one thing to know is that oliver and white rops made for 70hp and above will fit each other. Allso 70hp and below will fit mostly, but you can't cross that 70hp line or they won't fit.

Of the ones that you made fit, what were they off of?? A White I suspect, what did you have to do to make it fit?? I have not even seen many White tractors with canopy's, mostly cabs or four post canopy's. Any ideas on where I might look for one??

I don't know all the info on the make fit ons but ican try. One looked like an IH it fit a 1600 with little change. the fenders are mounted on the rops. The bottems where rusted off of fenders. I had to widen a MF 6"or so to fit a 1650. I gotta go.

Picking up where i left. It was a real chalenge to get the fenders back on. I think only two of the 3 bolts are holding the fender bases on. From what i have seen it's hard to find a rops wide enough front to back to fit olivers above 70hp. This is a hard spot to change,its a high stres area with little room. Widening the top bar is easy. I did add a small rops to a 1555 utility, then added an allumnim roof,it worked untill i ran into a very rough field. It cracked and fell off before i could get home

The 50 series had them as optional equipment, too. Extremely hard to find one for sale.
