What is the differance between a model 550, a model 55, and a super 55? What parts are interchangable? If I buy a model 55 parts tractor, will the transmission, PTO, 3POINT LIFT, etc. fit my model 550?

Oliver only built the models Super 55 and 550. There was not a model 55. The tractors are basically the same, piston bore was 3 1/2" in the Super 55 and 3 5/8" in the 550. The larger bore sleeves could have been installed later.

The 550 was the "improved version" of the Super 55, which was the "improved" 55. The tractors are built on the same basic platform, but some parts will interchange and some will not. The only way to tell for sure would be to get parts manuals for both, and compare. I recall a neighbor having a 55 or Super (not sure which) on which he had problems with the PTO shaft breaking- I have a 550, and operated another in my youth, with no such problems, so I suspect that they improved the PTO for the 550. 3 point is probably interchangeable.
