Went to Farmer's Day parade Saturday in Bennett, NC & saw an Oliver 400. Looks like a Farmall 140 painted green. It was a 1953 model, owner said there were only 700 ever made. Anyone know where I can get one?

Jerry,

It appears that you are describing the Oliver 440, which was produced in 1960 and merely an updated version of the Super 44 that was built in 1957-58. I have been told that only about 700 were built and a significant number found there way into the North Carolina tobacco fields. I was able to find mine several years ago through this site, but since that time I have seen asking prices up to $8,500.
