Hello all...

I am new to the world of Olivers, having "jumped ship" from the Farmall list. Last night I purchased what I believe to be a 1953 66 Row Crop

Serial number is 429308

Does that look like a factory wide front end? How rare/common are these? Also, is the paint scheme correct or should it have a yellow grill and red wheels?

Once I get it cleaned up a bit it will be a nice tractor. Runs perfect, all the gears (all 8 of them!!) are nice and quiet, etc. Thanks in advance for any assistance

Now that you finally have gotten your foot out of that bucket of red paint, welcome to the wonderful Oliver world of "Finest in Farm Machinery"! If your tractor has the serial number 429308, you are the proud owner of a 1951 "Fleetline" Row Crop 66 and the wide front end appears to be an Oliver factory original. It also appears to have the preferred cast iron rear wheels and the originial Bostrom Ridemaster seat. Now all you have to do is paint it properly. I have a picture showing the correct paint colors that I will gladly share with you if you will send your email address to me at [email protected]. I would also like to invite you to join the Hart-Parr/Oliver Collectors Association if you are not currently a member.

That looks like an Oliver front end to me.

Yes,
The front in the picture is a wide front for the 66 series tractor. They are harder to find than the 77s and 88s.

It should have a yellow grill and red wheels + some more red trim on frame under grill. I have not seen a front like that. Look for a part or casting number on that front end so we can tell if its oliver.
