2255's were built through 1973-1976.

Has 18 forward and 6 reverse speeds from 1.5 to 17.1 m.p.h.

According to Nebraska Tests it burns 9.4 gallons/hr, and 15.59 Horsepower/hr per gal

Fuel capacities W/fender tanks 113 gallons, W/cab 65 gallons

They have a closed center hydraulic system with a
20 GPM variable-displacement piston pump maintaining a constant 2200 psi.

Hydrualic triple-disk brakes, self adjusting, with hand parking brake.

Can have up to 4 hyd. remotes

Combination 540-1000 pto (Hydrualically Ingaged)

Catergory II or III 3-point hitch, 6000 lb capacity.

Iso-Mounted platform and Cab.

Factory cab Has a intergrated ROPS
Can be equipped with a radio, heater, and a 18,000 BTU air-condioner.

Cab noise level is @ 89 dB(A)

The cab on my 2255 is quite nice, having new foam, floor mat, and sealing up any day light around any fittings keeps the dust out just as good as John Deere Sound-Guard cab and the noise level is quite liveable (better than some cabs of that time).I had my factory A/C converted over to 134A, and it cools very well (even today when It was in the 90's).

Turning Radius W/0 brakes, 2 wheel Drive 146 inches, 4 Wheel Drive 241 inches.

Weight with 18.4-38 tires, W/Cast duals, 2 wheel Drive, No Ballast- 16,407 lbs

I got 1 question for anybody out there... If you look at picture of the 2255 in the Nebraska Tests. It shows the 2255 with cast-duals and they mounted cast weights in the dish of the duals. They look like a regular Oliver weight that was used on many Oliver models. The literature that I have shows rear wheel weights as a option. What kind of bracket do they use to mount these weights? Has anybody out there seen a 2255 out there with rear wheel weights?

Has anybody seen the special side brackets to add 3 additional front Satchel weights to each side for a total of 14 front-end Satchel weights? This is including the main front 8 Satchel weights.

The 2255 was the last Oliver Tractor built.
Came with two different Cat engines, first had a 3150(573c.i.)(h.p. 145) later 2255s came with the well known 3208(636c.i.).
Hp was around 147 pto hp.
Also came with at least two different styles of plantatary rearends.
In 1974 U.S.A.C had ran a test of all major tractors offered with v8 engines, the 2255 with the 588 plow won the honors.
The 3150 engine weighs 1312lbs
firing order is 12734568
engine is square(4.5 stroke and 4.5 bore)
Low idle is 600 rpm
rated at 2600 to 2660
compression is 17:1
timing 16 degrees static btdc
cranking speed is 200rpm(at 70 degrees)
engine temp is 175 to 210.
I took this info from a Oliver service bulletin dated 12-7-1972.The whole subject is 2255 tractor specs just what do you want to know?In mop was the best styled Oliver built, even without the 4x4 frontend was one tough looking machine.Hope this helps.

I have a 1976 2255. Very strong tractor, I pull 8x16 White plows Spring and Fall. I believe this tractor was one of the last 2255's produced. If you need more specific info, e-mail me. Marc
