Can anyone out there help me? I have advertised this tractor (garage kept for the last 15 years) for $3400 and the phone is ringing off the hook. One guy even wanted to meet me at 6 a.m. with cash in hand, another advertised for an Oliver and told me this is his "dream" tractor. It has a bucket, good rubber and runs great. Several are coming tomorrow to have a look. Help please.

The dealer in North Branch Michigan has one of these for $3100 and it's been on his lot for a year. These are ok for light work but will not stand up to a farm operation - they were designed for small acreage European work, a lot of light pulling, no heavy tillage or serious loader work. I would give around $3000 for a nice one with a loader, which is about what I paid for my Super 55 with loader. There were numerous changes made before the next version came out, mostly for longevity.

If you have advertised this tractor for $3400 then you have already SET its worth. What it's worth is a question you ask BEFORE you advertise. If $3400 was acceptable to you before, why is it not now?

Yes, and if you go and raise the price, AFTER advertising at another, then prepare to see dust and taillights as the prospective buyers LEAVE. That is a huge turn-off. Even with all the prospective buyers, you could very well be left with the tractor for pulling a dirty stunt like that, and I wouldn't feel one bit sorry for you. Take the $3400, and be happy you can get it--a 1250 is no prize anyway, just a problematic piece of junk that's hard to get parts for. The dealers here couldn't get that much for one of those heaps.

Ditto, most people wouldn't want one unless they already had one that has one of the MANY parts that aren't available and want to piece them together to keep one tractor running. Dream...no...
