My father owns a 770 Oliver - gas. The hydraulics keep dumping the hydraulic fluid into the transmission. Any suggestions on what's going on and how to fix it? Are there any good web sites to get a diagram of the hydraulic system?

My dad's 77 did exactly the same thing, the seals went bad. It's a pain in the neck to get to but if you work this tractor you nee to fix it.

T Smith the hydraulic Oil is most likely leaking through the seals of the hydraulic pump into the transmission rear end oil. You see the pump mounts underneath the hydraulic housing and hangs above the transmission. The pump also has a long shaft that goes from the flywheel of the engine all the way back to the pto clutches and goes right through the middle of the hydraulic pump to drive it. This shaft has to be removed in order to remove the hydraulic housing and pump assembly. If you have any questions just e-mail me and I will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Good luck Shadetree.
