i recently acquired a Oliver but am not sure how to determine the model number by the serial number. s/n: 990/0A/462568
needs lots of work.
has a 4 cyl. diesel
please help with information.

I myself have an Oliver 500, which is the same as the David Brown 850 with some minor variations.Your looks slightly different so I assume that it must be the 600 version, which is equvilant to the model 950. Elmer Landman who frequents the Case/David Brown forum could tell you for sure. Here is an interesting web site. Good Luck.

Oops! Sorry that should be 990 not 950. Check your serial number once again as the 462568 seems high.

Looking at the picture , it looks to me like a Oliver 500 or 600. Both of these tractors were made by David Brown of England.Looking at the cerial numbers , I would say it was a 600.The number goes beyond the serial numbers in my book.But does not even come close to the 500 cerial numbers.
