Oliver 770 Puller? or pass

: I am looking for a puller and the local dealer has a 770 wide front in decent original condition, needs instruments, a steering wheel, seat and paint, tires are ok as is. 1. Will it make a puller 2. is it worth 1200.00 I don't mind spending a few bucks to tweak the engine but funds are not unlimited. Appreciate the help guys. Dan

I can't speak for other areas but up here in Ontario Canada 770's are not bad pullers but the Farmall M'S usually have the edge, but then again hard to say how much the M's are tweaked compared to the 770's. As far as price I don't really know but straight average 770 not needing anything would bring around $1200 here.

Go for it!Both tractors can be built to the same cubes but A built 770 can get down to 3,500lbs. where the "M "can't go.There a magazine called "The Hook" that is for pullers & give you all kind of ideas.ph#800-767-5828 if won't work for yousend $21.00 to po bx562,Yellow Springs,Oh.45387-0652 For 1yr sub.I have a 77 I'd like to build when I can afford it.They can be Bored&Stroked to 414cu.in.& 125+H.P. mine is 216 now they say you can pull 5th gear with the big cubes.I pull a hopped-up 70 now that has out pulled JD"A"Stock 77&88,"H"&a few"M"Farmalls on a good day.Happy Pulls
