Where can a fellow get a carburetor rebuild kit for a 66. The one I got from NAPA is not correct. Thanks Bill {Antique Acres}

Bill , I don't recommend getting your carburator kit from Central Tractor.Other than the gaskets , the quality is poor.Every time I had given in a little bit and bought Central Tractors carburator kit or points , condencer , distributor cap , and rotor cap ; I have very poor performance.I would then go and buy quality parts.With quality parts , I have no problems.This is not a one time situation.This has happened enough in the past , that I make it a point to never buy these kind of parts at Central Tractor.You would be able to see a big difference in quality just by looking at Central Tractor parts , and comparing them to quality parts.Call Maibach Tractor at (800)-808-9934.The prices are also very resonable. Scott, you may have had a bad experince at a C T Farm Store, I bought a carb rebuild kit from the Oliver dealership 20 miles west of where I live and a carb kit from the C T farm Store 20 miles south east of where I live and the plastic container and cardboard logo inside were the same.

I got the last one for a 66 at the C T Farm Store off the peg at the store. I get most of my Oliver carb. kits at AGCO where the used to be Oliver. At AGCO they have to order them for me.

Not to defend Central Tractor, but I used to work for them and the tune up kits are made by Wells (or were)and work pretty well for me. I've had a few bad sets of points, but I've had bad ones from auto parts stores too. Their carb kits are really pretty good. In all the kits I've bought (and hundreds I've sold), I've only had one bad one (the inlet seat was drilled off center and almost drove me nuts). My $.02 worth.

I was just giving you some of my own experience , along with many other people in my area that I know.I know that when I hold the Central Tractor parts in one hand , and high quality parts in the other , there is a distinct difference in quality(look close) and performance of what ever I put these kind of parts in.I'm constantly giving Central Tractor my business.It's one of my favorite stores.But , because of past experience with these kind of parts , I will not buy them at Central Tractor.And yet it would be so convenient for me.As far as having the same lable in the box , that doesn't mean anything.I'm sure every one can relate to a "SKIL" circular saw.They have many model number saws that all look the same.That doesn't mean you get the $100.00 saw for the cost of the $39.00 saw , when you see it on sale in the flyer.Maybe Central tractors parts are seconds.Everyone knows that in most cases , you get what you pay for.Some people don't know the difference in quality of parts , tools , etc..That is what stores like Central Tractor are banking on.You have to know what you are looking at.I'm looking forward to reading replies from other people on this site.
