Oliver 1850 Questions

I live in central Texas, and I'm thinking about buying a 1850. I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what one would be worth that's in good condition all around? This tractor has only had one owner since it was new and I know it's mechanicaly sound . Also is this a good tractor to work with? I would mainly be using this to pull a cutter and baler. Thanks for the help.

I have two Olivers, a 1950T and a 1950.
Both are diesel, with the Waukesha engine.
If your 1850 is diesel, it will have
the Perkins engine, I believe. The 1850
is the most desired Oliver if you want something
you can still work.

If you can get it for $5K, you're doing very
well.

I'm in Austin, TX and have some Oliver references, so contact me if you need
help.

we are in ky and run 3 1850s the gas ones will cost 2750-3750 the diesel will run 4250-6000 depending on cond we like them

Bob the 1850 is one of the best tractors that oliver built.Factory certified at 92hp(although many pulled over 100)(diesel also)Should be plenty of tractor for what you want to do with it(what kind of baler, one ton square bales or small bales or round?)If it is a diesel and in the condition you state I would agree with the other post that it is worth around $7000.Also if it is a 1968 model it could have the over/under aux tranny which would make it worth more than the older models with just the hydra power.Also is it wide front?does it have fender tanks,fulls set of weights?top link and balls for the three point?All these things should be factored into the final cost.

my neighbor has a 1850 . i use a good bit its a nice working driving tracctor.plenty for most balers.the perkins is a good motor.and the over under gives you lots of gears. check that out before you buy. he paid about 7000 here in pa and thats a av price.
