Loader for 550

I am trying to find parts for a loader I purchased with a 1961 550 tractor. I can't find any ID on the loader, but know it was purchased new with the tractor by the previous owner. I did find a casting number on the support frame - 340231. The loader has angled arms for the bucket. It also has a brush gaurd on the front which holds the hydraulic oil tank. Any help on the model number for this loader would be appreciated.

I probably can help you, I have a O-59 loader on my Super 55 and also have a 588 loader to install.

Need to know if it has hydraulic dump for bucket Y/N?

What is the shape and material of the main arm? Straight/bent? Round/square or fabricated rectangular?

Or, a couple of images would help a lot!

The bucket is hydraulic with two cylinders. The main arms are fabricated rectangle in shape, and are bent at about a 30 degree angle. The main frame which bolts to the tractor is square structural steel. Sorry, but I am unable to send images at this time with my computer system. I know this is an Oliver loader as I had the owner manual at one time. The manual was lost in a shop fire along with portions of the loader, which I am now trying to rebuild.

Brian , I have a "New Idea" loader on one of my tractors.It has cross piece on the front part of the loader arms that always looked to me like a tank.It has 2 pipe nipples coming out the top of this tank.One on the left , and one on the right.I often wondered if that was a tank for the hydraulic fluid.I know another Oliver man in my area.He has a Oliver 550 tractor with a loader on it.He said to me , your loader looks just like the one on my Oliver"550".He has known of this tractor and loader for 40--45 years.As a boy , he worked for the farmer that bought the tractor and loader new.What I'm getting at is:It might be a "New Idea" loader.E-mail me a picture.I'll let you know if it does look like mine.
