Cockshutt plow?

I am led to believe that I purchased a Cockshutt plow at a farm auction. It is a two bottom, pull type plow on rubber. It is almost completely rusted except for one of the bottoms still has a little very faded orange pant with the words "Speed Plow" on it. I also notices that some of the parts have numbers stamped on them with the letter "P" in front. Are there any pictures or liturature out there for these plows?

Hello again. Some thoughts on your plow. If it is one of the later light duty plows, it will be a 122 if it had 14" bottoms or a 120 if it had 10" convertable to 12" bottoms. The 122 was fixed at 14" and most 120 were used at 12".
The older series was the 8A, similar to the 120 adn the 9A similar to the 122. The newer series wer made a little stronger in the top structure. The newer series had a chain to hold up the hitch/pole and the older series had a rod sliding thru a spring to hold up the hitch/pole.
There are manuals on Ebay for sale right now bo both. One other thing, I think coop put an E in front of the Cockshutt number when they sold them.
Good luck with it. I have a 120 3 btm myself.
Neil

I was able to see a very faded number toward the front of the plow. I believe it shows ?12b. Is this close? The plow bottoms are 12" apart.

I have a brochure on the Cockshutt plows printed in about 1950. The term "HIGH SPEED PLOW" was used in the advertisment. I don't have the equipment to post a picture of the plow(s).

Hal, I don't have a scanner so I can't e-mail you a picture. Thanks anyway.

Massey50, The two numbers before the 12B should be E1 (E112B). Your plow should weigh 665 lbs. and was built from the late 1940's into the mid 1950's.

Does that E112 mean that I have a COOP or a Cockshutt? Different parts on the plow have a "P" before the part number.
