My fan belt busted and I cannot run the machine without it overheating. Can anyone tell me how to put this new fan belt on without disconnecting all the parts in front of the fan belt pulley?

Richard - Must be your 1650 is an "industrial"? (with the hydraulic pump shaft-driven from the front of the crankshaft.)

If so the only way to install a new belt is to unbolt the pump and slide it forward far enough to disengage the shaft spline. Now slip the new belt over the crank pulley then remount the pump. Not an insurmountable task - but it does take some effort!

Another alternative is to stick on a linked belt. This type of belt can be opened up and installed without disturbing the hyd pump.

Linked belts are kinda pricey. And they probably won't last as long as a standard fan belt. But they DO work. If your 1650 is like mine it requires a 3L (3/8" top width) belt.

For details go to McMaster-Carr online catalog and search for catalog page 1024.
