I got evrything back together today and my 550 is working like a charm!

Had a small set back after installing the new pump in that the o-ring on the outlet of the pump moved when I was tightening it and got cut. Of course I didn't realize this until I had oil back in everything and was doing some tests and realized the hyd oil was going into the rear end again. So we took everything apart AGAIN, replaced the cut o-ring and put everything back together. Second time was the charm this time. Everything works well.

Thanks to all who offered help, especially Super 55, Chris Van, Kent Gordon and J Schwiebert.

There is still lots to fix on my 550 but at least I can use it a bit now.

A trick you may already know- to keep O rings from moving during assembly, put some grease or Vaseline in the groove or "land" where the O ring sits- that will kind of "glue" it in place so it won't tend to move so easily.

Thanks Mike,

I had put grease on it but I guess not enough or I was a bit careless putting it on. The second time I used more grease and had help to hold the pump while I started the bolts so it went on much smoother.
