The governor arm soon after you start the tractor will go back an forth and back an forth for about 20 minutes until the tractor gets hot. It will also Backfire. I had a machine shop make new bushings and shafts for the weights. And I put in new bearings in the housing. (It Didn't Help.) I can tie a string to the governor arm and pull back to help keep the tractor running until it gets hot. The tractor has a new carburetor. Is there something other than the governor causing this????

Ah the world of gas tractors. How did you adjust the linkage between the governor and carburetor. Have you made a vacuum test of the engine? What are you using for a carburetor. I think you have some other little issues. J.

It's a Zenith carb. about 100 hours on it. The linkage has been adjusted both ways. I didn't think about a vacuum test, will have to get my mechanic back over here. Thanks
