My father recently purchased an Oliver 1850 LP. We are trying to find out more information about it for curiousity's sake. The numbers we have do not match anything I've seen for an 1850 tractor though...

The S/N is 163532-427.

The M/N is 185-2353.

Will someone please tell me what year model this tractor is, and any other information you can gather from these numbers. Thanks!

On the serial number search on the Olivers it is a 1965 year model

Well, the information I find doesn't show my number...

Link

Is that the right page?

Anyway, thank you! That is what we had expected b/c of the stamping on the LP tank...

It is a 65' it came with a wide front axle and is a factory lpg. 427 is a standard speed transmission.

I finally understand this forums notation now. I missed the part about the "starting" serial number... Sorry for the confusion.

However, how can you determine such things as the WFE, factory LP, and such. Do certain digits of the M/N correspond to certain things?

I'd love to be able to have as much information as I can, and I'd love to know what makes it that way. I've done this numerous times with old muscle cars, but this seems to be a lot harder... Again, thanks for all your help!
